《 上課要求 》
Students are expected to come to class on time and to participate in all activities. Participation means submitting homework assignments on time, joining in conversations, volunteering, speaking English, and following norms of politeness toward the teacher and other students. It does NOT mean sitting quietly in class, doing homework from other courses, using foul language (in Chinese or English), or talking about other topics in Chinese.
If students are absent, they should call another student for the assignment. If students suffer an emergency, they are nevertheless responsible for knowing what went on in the class when they went absent. Absent is not an adequate excuse for coming to class unprepared. Students who are unavoidably late because of work or other responsibility may be given extra work, assigned Market Place classes.
Students should check virtual campus each day for classroom announcements and update email address. (MyCourse→Setting→Update e-mail→Save)
Please show courtesy in the classroom. Don’t talk when someone else (the instructor or another students) is addressing the class. Also cell phones may not be used to make or answer calls during class. Cell phone must be turned off or turned to vibration during the class period.
修習本課程學生必須準時上課，並踴躍參與課堂討論，準時交作業。並且鼓勵學生尊重老師和其他同學，嚴禁學生做其他作業或是用中文討論其他話題，上課期間手機請關機。學期初，更新虛擬校園網頁的電子郵件信箱，並且每天瀏覽虛擬校園的課程公告。
Students’ attendance will be evaluated from the first day if students have already enrolled in the course. It means as long as student’ name has appeared on class roster, student’s attendance will be checked. Attendance is important and, along with participation, counts as 15% of the grade. If a student misses 6 classes, s/he receives a 0 for the Attendance component of the grade.

進修學士班英文課程出缺席評分方式：
說明：
一、有鑒於英文課程之出席率對於英文學習之重要性，英文課程出席部分之評分方式將依據以下。
辦法：
一、如在英文課程缺席6天(6次課程)者，該部份出席成績將為0分。
二、以上規定自同學選課成功後，應開始上課之第一日開始計算。
附註:依本校學則第四章第三十一條，學生因故不能上課，請准事假、病假者為“缺課”

《 報告要求 》
Students are expected to complete all homework assignments on time. Submitting work late will result in a lower grade or a failing grade.
學生必須依照規定準時繳交所有作業。

Students are encouraged to actively participate in discussion during class. This is the only time most students will have a chance to practice English, so it is important to actively participate.
由於英文課是大部分學生僅有的機會使用英文，因此鼓勵學生積極參與課堂討論與練習。

There are three types of Market Place courses: 15-minute tutorials, 45 –minute reading workshops for E1/E2 students, and 45-minute courses on various skills. Students are encouraged to sign up for Market Place courses on Virtual Campus any time by
1.Connecting specific Market Place courses to students’ English needs
2.Rewarding extra credits
3.Allowing students to make up for late
4.Including these courses in your future resumes by printing out your 學習歷程in university
