不熟悉會計的學生不需懼怕此門課, 因為本門課是強調財務報表資料的運用層面, 而非著重如何編製的簿計層面。 課程上會補充一些有關的公司個案資料, 讓同學能了解如何使用財務資料。

The primary objective of this course is to let students understand how to use financial information to value and analyze firms. We will apply your economics/accounting/finance skills to help us understand What is contained in financial reports, Why firms report certain information, and How to be a sophisticated user of this information.
The course provides up-to-date applied knowledge of valuation. This will be very useful for your career as a financial analyst, investment banker, consultant, corporate director, etc. We will also discuss up-to-date and "hot" topics that companies face today. This information will be extremely useful for your job interviews and your future job.
Financial statement analysis mainly applies financial data to value firm value. The course is closely related with corporate finance, and investment. The traditional aspect focuses on ratio analysis, such as, liquidity, long-term debt-paying ability, operating performance, profitability and market price-related analysis. In addition to discussing traditional topics, we add more topics to inspire students' learning. They are MIT opencourse materials and problems spanning over corporate governance, earnings management, and corporate bankruptcy.
The students, who are not interested in accounting, should not be afraid of this course. The course emphasizes how to apply financial data, instead of the Booking operation. I also take the latest news reports as the case studies to let learners feel confident in using financial information.
