藉由餐飲英文相關的主題及情境,訓練同學的專業英文能力,反覆模擬不同場景的對話讓同學不只了解所需的餐飲英文,且讓同學熟悉不同專業領域的英文用法、片語與句型,增加其在工作場合的專業度。 學生在本課程的學習過程中,亦會學習到餐飲的實際工作流程,且在模擬的情境中,培養學生應對不同的場合的能力。 本課程涵蓋面廣且實用,由訂位至付款、早餐至下午茶、速食至正式的餐廳等均包括其中。
《 課程簡介 -- English 》
Enriches a student’s knowledge of not only the English language, but also, learn about the different contexts, meanings, words & phrases used in the English language world including that of the American culture (steak) Italian culture (café culture & Italian food), English culture (afternoon tea), different breakfast cultures, fast food cultures (fried chicken & burgers), bartending, alcohol culture (including beers, cocktails, wines, etc. in Western cultures). Students will learn about the actual workflows and processes in the food and beverage industry, on top of learning the English language. Students will go through a simulation process as they learn what happens in a conversation between a customer and server, enabling them to mentally simulate the different scenarios of the food and beverage industry. Students will learn essentially all the major scenarios in the food and beverage industry from making a reservation to paying the check; from ordering breakfast to afternoon tea; from ordering simple fast food meals such as fried chicken and burgers to a sit down dinner at an Italian restaurant and at a Steakhouse; and from ordering non-alcoholic beverages to alcoholic beverages such as wines, beers, and cocktails.
