本課程係以全球視野來介紹室內設計的歷史發展過程,先由非、亞的古文明帝國埃及、印度、中國及受到伊斯蘭宗教文化影響的地域談起;再進入西洋建築歷史推演的主軸,依序由古希臘、古羅馬的古典建築時期,接著進入基督教文明的拜占庭與中世紀的仿羅馬、哥德樣式,再延續受到古典建築深刻影響的文藝復興、巴洛克、洛克克乃至新古典主義和復古主義等;最後進入工業革命之後所陸續興起的建築美術運動、思潮,如新藝術運動、藝術裝飾、現代主義及至當代所流行的設計。本課程即依此架構進行教學進度的鋪排,除上述室內設計的歷史風格變遷之外,亦摻入各個時代、地域的社會、文化、經濟、技術等面向發展做為背景,以助於學生有整合性的認識。
《 課程簡介 -- English 》
This course introduces the historical development of interior design from a global perspective. It starts with Egypt, India, and China, the ancient African and Asian civilizations, as well as the areas affected by Islamic culture. Then it enters the main axis of Western architectural history. Chronologically, it tells the classical architecture of ancient Greece and ancient Rome, the Byzantine architecture of the early Christianity, the Romanesque and Gothic architectures in the Middle Ages, and finally the Renaissance, Baroque, Rococo, Neoclassicism, and Revivalism, which were deeply influenced by the classical architecture. Finally, it discusses the architectural movements and trends that emerged after the Industrial Revolution, such as Art Nouveau, Art Deco, Modernism and contemporary popular designs. This course is arranged according to this structure. In addition to the changes in architectural styles mentioned above, it also introduces the social, cultural, economic, and technological developments in respective eras and regions as the background knowledge to help students to develop a comprehensive viewpoint.
