This course focuses on the appreciation and analysis of films with a strong connection to drama and theatrical traditions. Students will explore the intersections between stage and screen through the study of narrative structures, character development, performance styles, and directorial approaches. By viewing and discussing both classic theatrical adaptations and contemporary art films, students will develop critical thinking skills and aesthetic sensibilities. The course also examines how drama films reflect social and cultural issues, encouraging students to understand cinema as both an artistic medium and a cultural practice. In addition to screenings and lectures, group presentations and a final project will provide opportunities for students to practice analysis, strengthen communication skills, and apply theoretical concepts to practical contexts. Ultimately, the course aims to enhance students’ professional competence in the fields of performing arts and visual culture.
