This seminar course provides an advanced exploration of Information Management theories, specifically designed to bridge the gap between academic research and managerial practice for graduate students. The objective is to establish a solid theoretical foundation and equip students with the frameworks necessary to diagnose and solve complex management issues. The curriculum encompasses both micro and macro perspectives, systematically examining the impact of information technology on individual behavior, organizational structure, and competitive strategy. In the theoretical domain, we will critically analyze core frameworks across three dimensions: the Individual Level (e.g., Technology Acceptance Model, Theory of Planned Behavior), the Organizational Level (e.g., Resource-Based View, Transaction Cost Theory), and the Social Interaction Level. Students will be guided to reflect on the rational and irrational factors driving technology adoption and diffusion. Furthermore, this course places a strong emphasis on Professional Ethics. With the ubiquity of Big Data and Artificial Intelligence, issues such as data privacy, algorithmic bias, and digital responsibility have become unavoidable challenges for modern managers. Through case studies, we will explore how to uphold professional ethics and social responsibility while pursuing technological innovation, aiming to cultivate Information Management professionals who possess both theoretical depth and ethical integrity.
