本課程之目的在於探討第二語言習得相關之理論與議題。涵蓋的主題包括母語的習得及對第二語言習得的影響、年齡對第二語習得的影響、學習者的個別差異以及社會文化因素對第二語言習得所產生的影響等。本課程的另一重點是以對比分析法分析常用之華語句型。

The purpose of the course is to describe and explain how L2 learning takes place. The major themes covered in this course include the differences between L1 and L2 acquisition, age factor in L2 acquisition, language transfer, individual differences as well as a host of psychological, social and cultural variables that contribute to the acquisition of a second language. Contrastive analysis of relevant L1 and L2 data is another focus of the course.
